How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
We can schedule a brief phone consultation before you schedule an actual counseling appointment to discuss your goals and see if I am the person to help you with these goals. We should be able to get a feel over the phone if we are a good therapist/client fit. I am in the helping profession so as much as I hope we can work together, I also can make referrals to ensure you find the best person for you.
How long is a counseling session?
Counseling sessions are generally 60 minutes. If we think we need a longer session then we can schedule 75-90 minutes.
How many times will I need to go to counseling?
It honestly depends if you are in a crisis situation or wanting to work through something that’s been weighing on you heavily for a while or seeking guidance and validation on your journey. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly . . .whatever works best for you.
How much does it cost?
The first session is $120 and subsequent sessions are $95 for a 60-minute session, $140 for 1 1/2 hours
Do you take insurance?
Sorry, I do not.
I don’t take insurance anymore because I was spending more time dealing with insurance companies than I was on counseling/therapy. I want to be able to spend my time helping women of all ages on their life journey and not spending 40 minutes on hold with insurance companies several times a day. If you have out-of-network benefits & choose to file with your insurance company then I will give you a “super-bill,” which is just an industry term for a clinical receipt that is properly coded for insurance companies.
How can I afford therapy?
Try to think about therapy as an investment instead of a short-term fix or a band-aid for the problem. This type of investment will bring positive, long lasting changes. You, as well as your family, friends and colleagues will benefit from your investment. Counseling is priceless as your whole self – mind, body, spirit – reaps the benefits.
Some women come in weekly at first, then bi-weekly, then monthly, bi-monthly and then maybe a couple of “tune up” sessions a year. So, yes, it is affordable, do-able, and worth it.
