My parents don’t get it.
If you are the teenage girl reading this you might think your parents don’t know you. They don’t get you. You want to be with your friends – not your family because “those people are weird.” Your parents won’t get off your back and they ask you so many questions. They are so annoying.
I have a teenager (mean-ager).
If you’re the parent, you’re most likely on an emotional roller coaster feeling like you have little to no control.
You heard the teen years would be, “a different kind of hard.” Now you understand.
How can a counselor help?
Well, for starters I get it; I live it. Once upon a time I was a teenage girl and now I’m raising 2 teenage girls.
There isn’t one way or a right way to do this. However, if what you’re doing isn’t working then it’s time to make some changes.
I can listen without judgment and give you some ideas about how to handle things.
I can help teens and parents understand each other a little better. And talk more.
It might be time to hit that reset button.
So now, what?
Just send me a message and I’ll contact you within 24 hours for a brief phone consultation so we can decide if we’re a good fit. That’s important.
We can then either schedule an appointment or I can share some other helpful resources.
Your quality of life can be better. It will get better. You’re just one step away from making it all happen.
